CLAYPOOL — Claypool United Methodist Church will host a free community celebration of the Declaration of Independence. The event is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, July 2, in the church’s activity hall.

Each attendee will receive a pocket size U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence. A reading of the Declaration of Independence will take place and musical guests will include Miranda Stage, Ally and Evan Watkins and the Second Continental Dulcimer Band, featuring

Genevieve and Ronald Metzger, Connie Van Curren and Larry and Corabeth McConnell.

There will be opportunities for selfies with “Thomas Jefferson” and watermelon, cookies, brownies and fruit will be available.

This event is not a worship service.
