IU Health Goshen Raises Its Minimum Wage
GOSHEN — An $11 minimum wage policy went into effect for IU Health Goshen Colleagues second quarter 2016. The increase is 51 percent above state and federal minimum wage rates. A total of 52 IU Health Goshen Colleagues were impacted.
“This minimum wage increase is well-deserved by our Colleagues,” stated Randy Christophel, president and CEO, IU Health Goshen. “This is the second year in a row that we have been able to increase our minimum wage and the increase reinforces our belief of providing a livable wage for all of our Colleagues.”
IU Health Goshen is able to continue to thrive in the uncertain healthcare environment through innovative policies of implementing programs and services that help the health system grow while remaining cost efficient.
The Uncommon Leader program encourages Colleagues to submit cost saving and revenue increasing ideas for implementation. In 2015, there were 5,823 ideas implemented, total TUL program cost savings and revenue generation of $2,915,049. As an organization, they achieved 33,886 TUL points, the highest since inception of TUL in 1998. IU Health Goshen has had no layoffs for more than 20 years.
