Gladys Stutzman — UPDATED
Gladys Stutzman, 85, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016 in the Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home in Plymouth.
Gladys was born on Jan. 14, 1931 in Kewanna to Rosa (Manus) and Joseph MacLain. On May 27, 1950 she became the bride of the late Jonas F. Stutzman in a ceremony in Kewanna. He preceded her in passing on Feb. 10, 2000.
Gladys sold Avon and worked at the Pilot News for several years before moving to Texas, where she was a medical secretary for the University of Texas Medical Branch. The Stutzman’s returned to Plymouth after ten years to be near their family. Gladys enjoyed fishing and was an avid bowler, but her greatest joy was her family.
Gladys is survived by her daughters: Debbie and Tom Rubesha, Argos; Rae Stutzman and companion, late Marguriet Quimby, Beaver Dam; Toni Stutzman and companion, Ben Oyler, San Marcos, Texas; her son: Gary and his late wife, Sherry Stutzman, Warsaw; Gladys was further blessed with ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; also surviving are her four sisters: Emily Brown, Ruth Hart, Jessie Hines and Merle Isaace; and one brother: Lawrence MacLain; two sister-in-laws: Rose MacLain and Barbara Swift.
Gladys is preceded in passing by her parents, beloved husband Jonas, five sisters, two brothers, nieces and nephews and in-laws.
The Van Gilder Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
According to Gladys’s wishes there will be no viewing or service at this time.
