Indiana All-Stars Not Bothered By Kentucky
INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana made easy work of Kentucky in both the boys and girls all-star games Saturday at Banker’s Life Fieldhouse. The boys won 106-84 and the girls also posted 106 in a 106-69 romp.
Six Indiana players hit double digits in the scoring column for the boys, led by Eugene German’s 20 points and six rebounds. Joey Brunk added 16 points and 14 rebounds, Mr. Basketball Kyle Guy had 14 points, seven assists and four rebounds, CJ Walker had 14 points, Columbia City graduate Brachen Hazen had 12 points and six rebounds, and Damien Jefferson added 10 points.
Indiana took a 20-points lead into the lockerroom with a 53-33 lead and never looked back.
Kentucky was led by Carson Williams’ 17 points and seven boards.
In the girls game, Miss Basketball Jackie Young again posted monster numbers with 30 points, 12 rebounds, five steals, three blocks and two assists. Kristen Spolyar and Lindsay Corsaro each had 12 points, Corsaro adding eight rebounds, Lauren Dickerson had 10 points and four assists, and Penn grad Camryn Buhr had six points and two steals.
Kentucky’s Erin Boley paced the Commonwealth with 27 points and 11 rebounds.
Indiana held just an 11-point lead at the break, but outscored Kentucky 63-37 in the second half to make the scoreline much less balanced.
