Juanita Gay (Stevens) Duff — UPDATED
Juanita Gay (Stevens) Duff, 76, Plymouth, died June 7, 2016 at 2:30 a.m. at We Belong Senior Home, Plymouth, Indiana where she had been in declining health for the past couple of years.
Juanita was born on March 1, 1940 in Red Wine, Ky. to Sanford & Elizabeth (Hill) Stevens
She had lived in the Argos Community most of her life.
On June 29, 1957 in Argos, she married David L. Duff and together they shared 55 years before David passed March 18, 2013. Juanita was a Homemaker/Housewife. She enjoyed spending time with her family, working in her yard and searching for new collectibles to decorate her home. Juanita loved and served the Lord and was active in her church throughout her life, singing and teaching Sunday School and setting a great example for her family and those around her. She never knew a stranger and was always ready to sit and listen to a good story, as well as share a few of her own. She could be found many days sitting on the front porch enjoying the sunshine and gentle breeze.
She was a member of the Plymouth Church of Jesus Christ, Plymouth.
Juanita is survived by her children: David Duff Jr. and wife Kim, Argos; Elizabeth Granning and husband John, Rochester; James Duff and wife Ellen, Warsaw; Naomi Ball and husband Andrew, Rochester; and Stephen Duff and wife Sue, Bourbon; 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one very soon; three sisters: Ruby Brock, Argos; Bonnie Susits and husband John, Argos; Linda Hale and husband Jim, Lakeville; four brothers: Herbert Stevens and wife Shirley, Argos; Hobert Stevens and wife Claudett, Lakeville; William Stevens and wife Linda, Punta Gorda, Fla.; Sherman Stevens and wife Linda of Bourbon.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Harold “Curly” Stevens; Donald Stevens; and James Stevens; sister: Edna Roberts
Friends may visit with the family from 2 p.m.–6 p.m. Sunday, June 12 at Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 13, at the Argos Church of Jesus Christ, 15676 Michigan Road, Argos with Rev. Lloyd Howard of the Argos Church of Jesus Christ. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
