Phillip B. Floyd
Phillip B. Floyd, 81, LaFontaine, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at his home. He was born to the late Cecil B. Floyd and L. Pearl (Weesner) Jervis on April 24, 1935, in Swayzee.
Phillip was a 1955 graduate of LaFontaine High School. He retired from Gen Corp Tool and Die, Marion. Phillip was a pattern maker and gun smith as an occupation on the side. He served his country in the United States Army. Phillip was a member of LaFontaine Masonic Lodge 295, Wabash Shrine, American Legion Post 248 of Lagro, Mizpah Shriners International, 32 Degree Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, Fort Wayne. He was a member of Banquo Christian Church.
Phillip is survived by a son: Daniel Floyd, Warsaw; two daughters: Kathryn Powell, Marion; and Mrs. Marsha (Jerry) Bowland, Amboy; three brothers: Larry (Sharon) Floyd, Herbst; Gene (Sandy) Floyd, LaFontaine; and David (Betty) Floyd, Hixson Tenn.; a special friend: Beverly Knee, Wabash; five grandchildren: Kelly (Jimmy) Mariol; Jason (Lelia) Bowland; Jessica Dameron; Lindsay Bolinger; and Kyle Floyd; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister: Carolyn Bowman; and a great-grandson: Wesley Weiss.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 6, at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, LaFontaine, with Pastor Harold Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park, Marion.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, June 5, at the funeral home, with Masonic Rites given at 5:30 p.m. Preferred memorials are directed to Shriners Hospitals for Children-Chicago, Chicago, Ill.
