Warsaw Kiwanis Donates to Riley Hospital
WARSAW — Kiwanis Club of Warsaw presented a check to Kate Bonner for Riley Hospital for Children in the amount of $3,500. K.C. Riley Kids Fund received $2,900.00. The money was raised at the Kiwanis Pancake & Egg Breakfast, chaired by Larry Peppel. Each year, the Kiwanis Club of Warsaw holds this event to raise money for these worthwhile organizations.
Kiwanis has long been a supporter of Riley Hospital for Children (beginning with the original fundraising for construction). Last year, then club President Renea Salyer requested the proceeds of this event be divided between the two organizations. President Adam Clemens has carried on that tradition. This year, Kiwanis Club members volunteered to man the telephones during the Riley Radio Days, too. President-Elect Michael Suhany visited other Kiwanis clubs in our division that resulted in volunteers and donations! Proceeds from the Riley Radio Days help fund the KC Riley Kids Fund, created by Michael Bergen and Alan Alderfer which helps parents with the expenses incurred when taking their children to Riley for treatment. Kiwanis Club of Warsaw members are proud to support these organizations that strive to help children.
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. Kiwanis Club of Warsaw meets weekly on Thursdays from 11:45 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds in the Shrine Building. Guests and visitors are welcome.
