SYM Financial Advisors named a Bicycle Friendly Business
Winona Lake, IN – The League of American Bicyclists recognized SYM Financial Advisors with a Bronze Bicycle Friendly Business award, joining an elite group of 1,197 local businesses, government agencies and Fortune 500 companies in 49 states and Washington, D.C., that are transforming the American workplace.
Fred Helfrich, CFP and Vice President at SYM Financial Advisors, said SYM pursued the bike-friendly designation for the promotion of healthy, active lifestyles. “We encourage our employees and the community to get out and enjoy the outdoors,” said Helfrich. “We’re fortunate that SYM’s Winona Lake office is located in an area that’s already very conducive to this lifestyle, and obtaining a bicycle-friendly designation is one way we can support Warsaw and Winona Lake as great places to live, work and play.” SYM Financial Advisors also sponsors the annual TYM 5K Run/Walk each Memorial Day. Proceeds from the 5K will fund the Tracey’s Trails trust, an initiative that supports the construction, improvement and maintenance of outdoor family recreation and fitness areas across Kosciusko County.
Moving forward, SYM will have access to tools and technical assistance from the League to become even more bicycle-friendly. “The business community’s investment in bicycling is playing a central role in making the country a safer, happier, and more sustainable place to live and work,” said Amelia Neptune, League Bicycle Friendly Business Program Manager. “We applaud this new round of businesses, including SYM Financial Advisors, for leading the charge in creating a bicycle-friendly America for everyone.”
