Triton Golf: Trojans Second At HNAC
CULVER – Winamac stood tall as champions of the first Hoosier North Athletic Conference boys golf championship Saturday at Mystic Hills Golf Course. Triton finished second.
The Warriors shot a team score of 335 to beat Triton by 11 strokes, led by tournament medalist Harley Pugh, who posted a magnificent six-over 77 for the tournament. Calvin Larkin aided Winamac’s cause with an 82, good for third overall.
Triton’s 346 had Jordan Anderson finish fifth in the scoring with an 84, with teammate Isaac Wall sixth at 85. Braden Kreft tied for eighth overall at 88 and Beau Hepler tied for tenth at 89. All four Trojans earned All-HNAC honors for their work in the tournament.
LaVille (362), Culver (404), North Judson (406), Knox (422), Caston (444) and Pioneer (450) rounded out the team scoring.
Triton will take part in the Bob Turner Classic Monday afternoon at Tippecanoe Lake Country Club. Warsaw, Wawasee and Tippecanoe Valley are also part of the field.
