A Black And White Evening For Cancer Care Fund Of Kosciusko County
SYRACUSE — Guests took the theme to heart for the “Black and White” Evening of Elegance fashion show for the Cancer Care Fund of Kosciusko County Saturday, May 14. Held in the Oakwood Resort Event Center, Syracuse, the room was filled with black and white attire.
Approximately 100 attended to see 22 models walk down the fashion runway modeling clothes from Satori Boutique, Glam Boutique, Carson’s Warsaw, Kay Rose Connection, The Lake House, Bart’s Watersports, B. Moore Collection, Absolutely Gifts, Tippecanoe Lake Country Club, ViVi Jewelry and Chapman Jewelers. Also participating were Thaddeus DuBois Handbags, Merry me, My Simple Soire and Sunrise Photography. A shopping experience, from many of the participating stores, was available after the show, with 20 percent of sales going to CCF.
Among the models was Jett Bender-Roe, a Madison Elementary student, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia 2 1/2 years ago. Jett and his brother, Asher, were among the children modeling who stole the show.
“It went great,” stated Ron Smock, program master of ceremonies and committee member. “The show was tremendous.” Smock along with Michelle LeDrew, Nicole Kelly and Patti Richardson coordinated the evening events.
Also helping with the evening was J Three Salon, Warsaw-Syracuse and the cocktails and hor d’oeuvres were provided by Oakwood Resort, Syracuse.
Proceeds from the evening went to the CCF fund. The fund is dedicated to reducing the challenges facing cancer patients and their families by financially assisting them during their fight. In 2015 the fund assisted 99 clients, distributing $133,182.59.
