North Webster Library News For May 16-21
NORTH WEBSTER — School will soon be out for the summer with parents hearing the familiar lament of “I’m bored!” Counter that complaint by signing the kids up for the Summer Reading Program at the North Webster Community Public Library.
From June 1 through July 30, kids can earn prizes for reading and attending entertaining events and fun activities each week. They will not only be entertained, but they will keep learning all summer long.
Of course, we don’t have to tell them it’s educational. They will be having too much fun to notice. Stop by the Youth Services Desk for details and a schedule of summer events.
The adults will be learning about famous and interesting people when they gather for Voyager Book Club at 10 a.m. Monday, May 23, to discuss biographies. Voyager is a different type of book club in that each participant chooses any book they want to read within that month’s assigned genre. So if you’ve read an interesting biography, come to Voyager and share with us what you have read.
At Revolving Recipe Round-Up, we will be sharing recipes and sampling dishes at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 24. This month, everyone is asked to prepare a dish made from a friend’s recipe and bring it to share along with the recipe.
It’s always a fun time of discovering new dishes while enjoying the fellowship of others. The library provides the table service and free coffee. If you like to cook and like to eat, this is the group for you. Everyone is welcome.
Don’t forget the Friends of the Library Book Sale going on this week Thursday through Saturday, May 19-21 in the North Webster Community Center.
