Grace College Sponsors Showing of ‘Poverty, Inc.’
WINONA LAKE — The public is invited to an exclusive showing of the awarding winning documentary, “Poverty, Inc.” at the Manahan Orthopedic Capitol Center, in Winona Lake, Saturday, April 9. The doors open at 6:30 p.m., the screening begins at 7 p.m.
Following the showing of the film, a panel of locals who work with non-profits will host a question and answer session. A $2 donation is suggested at the door. Students from Grace College School of Business and Grace Sports Management are sponsoring the event.
There are nearly 150 non-profits in Kosciusko County, as well as some 130 churches. Still, poverty is a serious issue locally. “Fighting poverty is big business, but who profits the most?” Poverty, Inc. reveals some startling answers to that question.
The film has been awarded the “Official Selection” designation in the 2015 Denver, Traverse City, and IDFA film festivals.
