Sheetz, Heckaman Arrested On Drug Charges

WARSAW — Two Kosciusko County residents have been arrested on drug charges after police found drugs and paraphernalia in their possession.
Wednesday, March 21, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department noticed a brown Chevrolet Blazer, driven by Tyler Sheetz, 30, 10582 N. Steffen Drive, Milford, but with plates for a Ford F150 pickup truck registered to Cherish Renee Heckaman, 31, 10582 N. SR 15, Roann, who had a warrant for her arrest.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and discovered that Heckaman was the passenger. He arrested Sheetz for driving while suspended and the vehicle was towed.
Officers conducted an inventory search of the vehicle and found a bag with two glass smoking devices and a plastic container with a white, powdery substance inside that field tested positive for methamphetamine. The smoking devices showed signs of having been used.
Officers searched Heckaman’s purse and found a piece of a straw with a white powder inside, which also tested positive for meth. A red case also contained three bags of meth, plus digital scales, plastic bags and receipts for items used to manufacture meth.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, Heckaman told police Sheetz traded meth precursors for meth. she also allegedly admitted to purchasing pseudoephedrine for Sheetz, though she did not know if he was using it to make meth or to trade for meth. The affidavit states Sheetz admitted to trading the pseudoephedrine for meth.
Sheetz also allegedly admitted to having used meth the day before and that the items in the vehicle were his. Sheetz was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia, in addition to his charge of driving while suspended. He was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on a $5,000 surety and $250 cash bond.
Heckaman was also booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $5,000 surety and $250 cash.
