GOSHEN — In recognition of National Doctor’s Day, IU Health Goshen will honor its doctors and the care each gives to the community Thursday, March 31. To thank the health system’s nearly 150 physicians, doctors will be given an appreciation breakfast Thursday morning.
“We look forward to National Doctor’s Day each year as a way in which we can express our gratitude and show our appreciation for the medical services our doctors provide to the community 365 days a year,” said Randy Christophel, president and CEO of IU Health Goshen. “Our doctors are privileged to help patients through some of their most difficult life experiences and some of the doctors are on the front line of medicine. IU Health Goshen would not be what it is today without the skilled and compassionate physicians who lead our healthcare teams.”
Doctor’s Day observances date back to March 30, 1933, and mark the anniversary of the first use of general anesthesia in surgery. In 1990, former President George Bush signed a resolution designating March 30, as National Doctor’s Day.
IU Health Goshen encourages the community to use National Doctor’s Day as an opportunity to thank the men and women who have dedicated their lives to the practice of medicine.
Send a note or simply tell your doctor that you appreciate all that they do for you and your health. You can even take the time to thank him or her at your next appointment.
