Tippecanoe Valley Basketball: Ladies Invited To HOF Classic
NEW CASTLE – The Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball program received quite the invitation today.
The Vikings have been invited to play in the 2016 Girls City Securities Hall of Fame Classic next December.
The field for the prestigious tournament includes the Vikings, along with Greenfield-Central, Plainfield and North Harrison.
Valley will face North Harrison in the second semifinal game of the tourney on Thursday, December 29 at the New Castle Fieldhouse, which seats 9,325 as the World’s largest high school gym. Greenfield-Central will meet Plainfield in the opener at 11 a.m., with the Valley-North Harrison contest to follow.
The consolation game will be played at 6 p.m. with the championship game to follow. This will be the 33rd edition of the girls’ HOF tournament.
Valley posted a 25-2mark this past season, winning the Three Rivers Conference title and a Class 3-A sectional championship. The Vikings, who are led by junior star Anne Secrest, were Class 3-A state runner-up in 2015.
North Harrison went 28-3 this season and were Class 3-A state runner-up. They lost to Heritage Christian in the state title game. Valley lost to Heritage Christian in the regional title tilt.
Greenfield-Central was 23-5 this season, while Plainfield posted a 24-3 mark.
