Community Career Center April Events
WARSAW — Goodwill’s Warsaw Career Center will be offering a variety of events in April. The events include a job fair with multiple employers on April 20 and a blood drive on April 22. Here are some events:
Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint Workshop Series
- 10:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 5
- 3-4:00 p.m. Thursday, April 7
- 3-4:00 p.m. Thursday, April 14
- 10:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 19
- 10:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 26
- 3-4:00 p.m. Thursday, April 28
Learn the basics of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. All skill levels and ages are welcome – from beginners to those just needing to brush up on these programs. Each lesson builds on the previous class, so it is helpful to attend as many sessions as possible. You’ll also learn how to further your skills from home. It is not necessary to sign up in advance. This workshop series is free and open to the public.
Resume Building and Writing
Walk-in Appointments Available Daily
Stop by the Career Center any time for a walk-in appointment when it is convenient for you. Our staff will help with resume writing, the job search process and interview techniques. Your path to success starts at the Warsaw Community Career Center.
Job Fair
1:30-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 20
The Warsaw Career Center will host a Job Fair on April 20, with: Patrick Industries, Gulf Stream, Kellermeyer Bergensons Services, Warsaw Community Schools, Cardinal Services and Trine University.
Employers have both part-time and full-time positions available in the following positions: Cabinet Builder, Industrial Cleaner, Community Living Site Manager, Fiberglass Worker, Residential Manager, Direct Support Professional, Construction Worker, Installer, Maintenance Assistant, Bus Driver, Adult Services Director and Industrial General Labor. Hourly wages are up to $15 depending on experience. Those attending should dress professionally, bring a current resume, and be prepared to interview that day.
Blood Drive
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, April 22
The Warsaw Community Career Center is pleased to host a Blood Drive and we encourage those who are eligible to participate. Visit: www.GiveBloodNow.com and click on schedule a donation and enter a Warsaw zip code to register.
Donors must be at least 17 years old, in good health and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds. The process takes approximately 45 minutes and strict procedures are followed to ensure safety. Blood donations are always needed and they save lives.
