Yoder Cited For Reckless Driving After Accident
ELKHART COUNTY — Austin Yoder, 22, Cromwell, suffered a bruised hip bone, small cut to the head and small bruises to his body following an accident on SR 13, south of SR 120, north of Goshen. The accident occurred at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, March 20.
Yoder was northbound on SR 13, south of SR 120, in a 1999 Toyota Tacoma when he passed a 2008 Dodge 350, driven by Dakota W. Jones, 23, Goshen. When Yoder attempted to get his vehicle back into his lane of travel, he had not cleared the Jones vehicle, sideswiping that vehicle.
Yoder lost control of his vehicle, went over mailboxes on the east side of the road. Because Yoder did not have his seatbelt on, he was thrown from the vehicle. The vehicle struck a NIPSCO post and came to a full stop sideways on the passenger side.
Jones was not injured.
Yoder was cited for speeding, improper passing, seatbelt violation and reckless driving.
The accident was investigated by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.
