UPDATE: Moped Vs. Car Near Leesburg

UPDATE — The Kosciusko County F.A.C.T. Team is investigating a crash between a motor driven cycle and a SUV that occurred on Old Road 15 near Leesburg Sunday evening, March 20, that has left a Warsaw man in critical condition.
Preliminary investigation by the Kosciusko County F.A.C.T. team indicates that at approximately 6:58 p.m. a 2010 Nissan driven by 31 year old Adam Christopher McGriff Tharp, Leesburg, was traveling northbound on Old Road 15. As Tharp was approaching the intersection of CR 600N, a motor driven cycle, being driven by Bradley A. Dye, 34, Warsaw, crossed the centerline of the roadway while headed southbound on Old Road 15. Dye’s MDC struck the front driver’s side of McGriff’s SUV, ejecting him into the roadway.
Firefighters from Leesburg/Plain Township, Warsaw Wayne Fire Territory, and Lutheran Kosciusko E.M.S. responded and immediately requested Lutheran Air helicopter to the scene. Dye was transported to Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, in critical condition with multiple injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Kosciusko County F.A.C.T. team and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
LEESBURG — Crews are responding to a collision between a car and a moped at Old SR 15 and CR 600N, Leesburg.
There was no word as to the conditions of either driver, but at least one person was airlifted from the scene.
