NORTH WEBSTER — It will be a busy time at the North Webster Community Public Library next week. The week starts off at 10 a.m. Monday, March 21, with Writer’s Corner sharing sequel stories they each have written. Then next month, the group will write about “if I were a bird.” It doesn’t matter whether you are a published author or a novice, Writer’s Corner welcomes everyone who enjoys writing.
Later at 5 p.m. Monday, Read, Eat and Discuss Book Club meets to discuss “The Bondswoman’s Narrative” by Hannah Crafts. Even if you haven’t read the book, come to the discussion and hear about this historical autobiography written in the 1850s by a runaway slave. Next month’s book, “A Matter of Honor” by Jeffrey Archer, will also be available. It’s a political thriller about a disgraced British colonel who bequeaths a mysterious letter to his son that threatens the very foundation of the free world.
Come to the Adult Coloring session at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 22. The library supplies coloring sheets with beautiful designs and coloring supplies along with easy listening background music. It’s a great way to unwind, enjoy some fellowship, and create a lovely picture to take home.
If you love to cook, bring your talents to Revolving Recipe Round-Up at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 22. Prepare a brand new dish you’ve never tried before and bring it to share along with the recipe. It will be a fun and delicious time of sampling each others dishes and swapping recipes. The library supplies the table service and free coffee.
The youth will be just as busy as the adults next week with Lapsit, for infants up to 24 months, at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, followed by Crafts and Stories at 4 p.m, for kids in grades K-5. Preschoolers meet the next day at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Wednesday for Preschool Story Time. Then bring the whole family to a free movie at 5 p.m Thursday, March 24, when the library will be showing a Disney animated fantasy set in a world where dinosaurs never went extinct. The movie is rated PG and runs 100 minutes with free popcorn for everyone.
Do you enjoy art? Stop by the library’s art gallery and admire this month’s fiber art exhibit created by Ejenobo Ruth Oke, associate professor of art at Manchester University. Each month, the library’s art gallery features a different artist and includes a variety of media throughout the year. If you’re an artist and would like to display your art, contact Janette Stackhouse to schedule a showing.
