Etna Green Approves Electric Utility Plan
ETNA GREEN — It was a quick and straightforward meeting for the Etna Green Town Council Tuesday, March 8. The town approved the updated electric utility rates, previously proposed during the February meeting of the board.
According to Deputy Clerk Treasurer Eileen Hall, the proposal, Ordinance 2016-01, has been sent out to members of the town for review since the announcement the town was working to update the rates. Hall noted the adjustments were kept as low as possible and would ensure the town’s ability to continue offering a high quality of service to residents while keeping pace with inflation.
According to Hall, the base customer charge for electric is $5.72 currently and will be raised $0.78, putting the base rate now at $6.50. The energy charge will increase slightly as well from $0.0784 to $0.1203. These charges are subject to the provisions to be set forth relating to monthly minimum charges, purchases power cost adjustment, terms of payment and other applicable adjustments.
General service rate for non-residential “GS” will change accordingly as well. Non-demand metered base charges will be $18 single-phase service per month and $23.50 three-phase service per month. The energy cost will now be $0.11730 for single phase and $0.116940 for three phase per KWH. Demand metered will now be $18 for single phase and $32 for three phase. Cost per KWH will now be $0.0510.
Large power service “LP” customers will now pay a $220 per month base charge. The fee is currently set at $208.08. Demand charges will change to $16.50 per KW of billing demand and $0.3092 per RKW.
