Potawatomi Zoo Begins New Classes
SOUTH BEND — The Potawatomi Zoo EdZoocation Department is full of fun for any age. The zoo opens its doors 10 a.m. April 1, with new spring and camps and classes available for enrollment.
The Potawatomi Zoo is also holding a number of classes, each focusing on a different aspect of the zoo. Camps include:
- Tiny Explorers for 3- through 4-year olds, which allows them to explore the world of animals through crafts, games and activities.
- Nyati Summmer Camp for 5- to 6-year olds to take a closer look at mammals and birds.
- Nyoka Summer Camp for 7- to 9-year-olds to journey over rivers, through wetlands and to the depths of the oceans to explore interesting aquatic habitats and animals living there.
- Nyuni Summer camp for 10- to 12-year-olds to learn what it takes to run Potawatomi Zoo with each participant creating his own Nyuni Zoo.

The Potawatomi Zoo is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. everyday from April 1 to Nov. 28, and is located at 500 S. Greenlawn Ave., South Bend.
