Culver, SC March On At Triton
BOURBON – Culver and South Central (Union Mills) each picked up opening round wins Tuesday night at the Class 1-A Triton Boys Basketball Sectional.
Culver opened the night with a convincing 52-25 win over North Miami. Everett Krueger led the Cavs with 16 points and four boards while Tristan Schultz finished with 12 points and five rebounds. Josh Krsek and Nate Carnegie each ended with eight points.
North Miami (1-22) had Trevor Linn pace the squad with eight points.
Culver opened the night with a 12-5 lead after one and used a 15-2 run to help spread out a matters in the second half.
Culver (15-8) will face Oregon-Davis (9-13) in Friday’s first semi-final at Triton, a 6:30 p.m. start.
In game two, a slow first half turned into a shootout in the second half for the Satellites of South Central. Scoring just 12 points in the entire first half, SC scored 18 points in the third quarter and 23 in the fourth to advance to the semi-finals. SC also did a number in the third quarter, outrunning the Dragons 18-4.
Jack Clindaniel led the charge for the Satellites with 19 points, including three from deep. Max Clemons added nine points and David Williams eight points in the winning effort.
Argos (12-11) finished up with Javan Miller at 15 points and eight boards and Tyler Horn with 10 points and nine rebounds.
South Central (14-9) will clash with Triton (16-7) in the second semi-final Friday night, which follows the Culver-O-D game.
The Triton championship game is set for 7 p.m. Saturday night. Triton also hosts the regional.
