Kosciusko County Now Under A Watch Level
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — Ed Rock, Kosciusko County Emergency Management, has placed the county under an Orange/Watch Level. He also reports the county government offices will closed at 2 p.m.
Fire departments, EMS Services and police agencies have been responding to numerous accidents throughout the county.
First Sgt. Chad Hill, communications division/public relations officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, reports between 6 a.m. and approximately 12:25 p.m. there were 37 calls through 911 of slide offs, property damage accidents or personal injury crashes.
Kosciusko County remains under a travel advisory, a normal advisory when there is a snow fall.
Marshall and Wabash counties have issued a watch level advisory which indicates conditions are threatening to the safety of the public. Marshall County has also contacted the American Red Cross to open a shelter for stranded motorist and those affected by power outages. The shelter is located in Plymouth.
The watch level travel advisory is that only essential travel, such as to and from work or in emergency situations, is recommended and emergency action plans should be implemented by businesses, schools, government agencies and other organizations.
