Renowned Mentalist Coming To Warsaw
WARSAW — George “The Amazing” Kreskin, mentalist, will perform at the Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, March 19.
Kreskin has been a mentalist for over 67 years and even had his own television show from 1970-1975, called, “The Amazing World of Kreskin” that aired in Canada. He’s also been on numerous talk shows and wants people to know he’s not a psychic, but an entertainer.
One of the highlights of Kreskin’s act, and what Wagon Wheel patrons can look forward to, is where he gives his paycheck from the venue where he’s preforming and hands it over to the audience to hide.
The way this segment of the act works is Kreskin picks six members from the audience to form a “committee.” The committee is made up of audience members who do not know each other or Kreskin. Kreskin is then escorted from the stage to a location where he cannot see or hear what is going on, while the committee hides his payment for the evening.
When Kreskin returns to the stage there are no questions asked; it is total silence. He then sets off through the auditorium to look for his check. “If I don’t find my check I’ll return my fee for the night,” he said with absolute seriousness. “I’ve only failed 10 times. That’s 10 times out of 6,000 attempts,” Kreskin said in an interview with InkFree.
One of the most bizarre places he said he’s found his check was under the upper, denture plate of a gentleman in the audience of one of his shows.
Tickets are $30 and can be ordered online at www.wagonwheelcenter.org or through the box office at (574) 267-8041. Due to the nature of Kreskin’s performance, children under 10 are not admitted.
