Warsaw Council Talks Snow, Conflict Of Interest
WARSAW — With a very brief agenda, the Warsaw City Council held its regular meeting Tuesday evening, Feb. 16.
The council passed on second reading an amendment to the existing snow ordinance. There was brief discussion and the ordinance passed on second reading.
Conflict of interest statements were also taken into account for 11 people. Mayor Joseph Thallemer explained that a conflict of interest means a person’s occupation, interests or job services, for example, could potentially affect that person’s position with the city.
Thallemer gave his own occupation as an example, noting he is an optometrist and as such could be included under the city’s health plan provider. The statements, he added, are for the sake of transparency.
The April 5, council meeting is set for 5 p.m. Thallemer noted the time and asked if there were any conflicts that week due to spring break. There were two, however the council will still be able to have a quorum that week and so the meeting will remain set for that date.
