NORTH WEBSTER — Tickets are now on sale for the library’s “Under the Big Top” Mystery Dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday March 5. The library will be transformed into a 1952 Circus with a murder mystery to solve.
Participants are assigned a character to play throughout the evening, given clues to follow, and asked to wear 1952 circus attire. You must have a ticket to participate which costs $15 per person and includes dinner. The number of participants is limited, so purchase your ticket early from Adult Services Director Beth Smith at the library or call her at (574) 834-7122 ext. 205. This event is for adults only.
The second session of the beginning genealogy class will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9. This is a valuable class for beginners who want to learn how to start researching their family history or as a refresher for those who have been away from it for a while. Another beginning genealogy class will be scheduled in April if you did not get into this class soon enough.
Adults, kick back and relax at craft and chat at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10. Bring your craft project to the library to work on and enjoy visiting with other crafters during this informal time of chatting and crafting.
At 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, the kids can gather in the library meeting room for crafts and stories where they can do a fun craft while listening to stories. This is always a popular activity. Then on from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, LEGO Club meets for free-style building fun for ages 5-12. The LEGOs are provided, and an adult should accompany children under age 9.
Are the kids getting bored? The library has a large and varied collection of print books for children of all ages from infants to young adults. When the kids get tired of their toys, check out a Book Buddy Play Kit from the Youth Department. Designed to teach as well as entertain, each kit focuses on a specific topic and includes books, activities, and play pieces. With over 20 Book Buddy Kits available, you will be sure to find one that interests your child.
