Wagon Wheel Presents The Amazing Kreskin
WARSAW — George Kreskin, a mentalist of TV talk show fame, will perform at Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, March 19.
From 1970-75, Kreskin’s television series The Amazing World of Kreskin appeared on Canadian Television. He also appeared on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,” “Live with Regis and Kathy Lee,” and is a frequent guest on WPIX in New York City. Kreskin is also an annual guest on “Fox News Channel” and “CNN,” where he gives his New Year’s Day predictions of coming events.
Although Kreskin makes predictions, he refers to himself an “entertainer” not a “psychic.” He has stated that his abilities are based on suggestion rather than supernatural or clairvoyant powers. Audience participation is a major part of Kreskin’s live performances, as the involvement of random individuals lends credibility to his otherwise-incredible feats.
One of Kreskin’s well-known tricks is to find his own paycheck during each live performance. He instructs the audience to hide it as he escorted into seclusion by other members of the audience. If he is unable to find the check by the end of the performance, he does not get paid. According to Kreskin, this has only happened nine times during his career.
Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts welcomes Kreskin at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, March 19. Tickets are $30 and can be ordered online at www.wagonwheelcenter.org or through the box office at (574)267-8041. Due to the nature of Kreskin’s performance, children under 10 are not admitted.
