Shriners, Students Prep For Annual Circus Trip
By DONNA BURROUGHS,
Triton School Corporation Superintendent
John Sadler, from the Shriners, visited Triton third graders as they prepare for their upcoming trip to the circus in Fort Wayne Friday, Jan. 22.
Sadler told the students that he has gone to the circus for 30 years now, and he shared how the Shriner Organization holds the circus as one of their fund raising events to help them pay for children in need of medical care at Shriner Hospitals.
There are 22 non-profit Shriner hospitals in North America. The Shriners graciously pay for all third graders in Kosciusko county to attend the circus in Fort Wayne each year. Kids that enjoy their day at the circus may want to come back to see more of the entertainment and even visit the animals with their family on another day.
These additional visits and ticket sales to the event, help support the charitable contributions that the Shiners make to those 22 hospitals. Everyone is looking forward to a great event and thankful for the kindness of the Shriners that makes it possible.
