McDonald’s Customer Pays For Food With Heroin In LaPorte
LAPORTE — Police are looking for the McDonald’s restaurant drive-through customers who paid for their food with money and a tiny bag of heroin Monday night.
Police said the driver of a car occupied by two other individuals handed over a wad of bills to pay for his food at the Boyd Boulevard McDonald’s. But 28-year-old employee discovered the money was wrapped around a tiny green plastic baggie containing a dark colored rocky substance. Police said a test confirmed the contents as heroin.
The employee was unable to give a good description of the trio, but noted the driver was slurring his words as if he was intoxicated.
LaPorte Metro Operations Coordinator Harlan Williams said the report will be investigated and surveillance video reviewed to see if anyone in the vehicle can be identified.
Williams said the driver more than likely did not realize he also pulled heroin out with the money from his pocket when paying.
”It shows you how significant the problem is here that we’re battling,” said Williams.
