Vanderhegghen Earns League Player Of The Week
WINONA LAKE – Brandon Vanderhegghen was named the Crossroads League Player of the Week on Monday following an impressive week for Grace’s men’s basketball team.
Vanderhegghen, a graduate of Mishawaka, helped the Lancers to a pair of road wins last week, averaging 26.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game to lead the Lancers.
In Grace’s upset of NAIA No. 1-ranked IWU, he hit five 3-pointers and was 8-of-12 from the floor for 26 points.
He also recorded a double-double of 27 points and 10 boards in Grace’s 10-point win at Huntington.
The senior guard played 75 minutes and 11 seconds out of a possible 80 minutes for the Lancers last week.
Grace will host Goshen on Wednesday at 8 p.m. as part of a women’s/men’s doubleheader at the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center. The Lancers will then end the week playing at Mt. Vernon Nazarene on Saturday at 2 p.m.
