SYRACUSE — Events, programs, and hours for the holiday at Syracuse Public Library.
Movie, Arts, and Crafts Over the Holidays
The weather is colder and helped get everyone into the feeling of the holidays. However, being inside becomes tedious after a while, so the library is offering some activities to provide a break during the week before New Year’s.
A movie and popcorn matinee is showing at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29. Come see a prequel movie that is popular with people that like the color yellow and is new at the library.
Come for art at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30. Children love painting and drawing time.
Craft day is at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31. Several craft projects with help will be provided.
Library Hours
The library hours over the New Year holiday are as follows: We close at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, we are closed Friday, Jan. 1, and we are open for business from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2.
Supplies are Needed
The children’s knitting group is running low on short needles and medium crochet hooks. Anyone that is doing an inventory of unwanted items is asked to give to the library.
The groups would like some new yarn colors for the new year also. Crocheting and knitting groups for adult and children meet on Thursdays through the winter. Because the Syracuse Library is closing at 3 p.m. New Year’s Eve no groups will meet.
Adults that want help revisiting knitting or crocheting skills should put 5:30 p.m. Thursdays on next year’s calendar. Children are specially invited at 4 p.m. The Syracuse Library may be contacted at (574) 457-3022.
