Four Winds Casinos Donate 1,000 Baskets Of Food

NEW BUFFALO, Mich. — The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians and its Four Winds Casinos are pleased to announce a donation of 1,000 baskets of food to local organizations in northern Indiana and southwest Michigan for those in-need. Each basket includes a turkey, three pounds of potatoes, stuffing mix, cranberry sauce, kernel corn and an apple pie.
Employees at Four Winds Casinos, in coordination with several local organizations, have already begun delivering baskets to those in-need. These organizations include the Food Bank of Northern Indiana in South Bend, Ind.; the Salvation Army in Benton Harbor, Mich.; Emergency Shelter Services in Benton Harbor, Mich.; Decatur Human Services in Decatur, Mich.; the Marcellus Community Food Pantry in Marcellus, Mich.; and the Salvation Army in Niles, Mich. Four Winds Casinos is also donating 50 turkeys to the Hartford Methodist Church in Hartford, Mich.
“We Potawatomi have always been a giving people. This is another example of the Potawatomi tradition of empathizing with those who struggle and helping others in need,” said John P. Warren, Chairman of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians, which owns Four Winds Casinos. “We would like to thank all of the local organizations for helping us reach families in Michiana who can now enjoy a festive holiday meal.”
