WARSAW — An encroachment agreement, new speed limits and the 2016 appointments were made this morning at the Dec. 15 Kosciusko County Commissioner’s meeting in Warsaw.

Attorney Steve Snyder came before the commissioners with an encroachment agreement concerning lot eight in Lakeview Park. Resident James Sarll is trying to rehabilitate the land, but part of the foundation crosses his property line onto South Hill Drive. Because of this, Sarll has had to await approval from the commissioners. They passed the encroachment agreement, but only because the agreement stated the county could take back the land and force Sarll to tear down what he has built.

County Highway Department Head Scott Tilden came before the commissioners with three requests. First, he wanted to establish a 20 miles-per-hour speed limit on C24 c-f, which is currently unmarked. “Because of the narrowness of the road, I think we should mark it as 20 miles per hour instead of leaving it unmarked,” Tilden noted. The speed limit was approved. In addition, manhole installation has been approved for School Street near SR 15.

County Attorney Chad Miner came before the commissioners with the 30 West TIF establishment of area resolution. The resolution has already come before the redevelopment commission and was approved. The commissioners passed it as well. Miner also brought forth his own contract for the 2016 year, which has had no change since last year, and it was passed.

County Auditor Michelle Puckett brought forth the interlocal agreement between Kosciukso County and the KCCRVC, which has had no changes since last year and it was approved.
