Area Officers To Host Christmas With A Cop
By PAUL HEATON,
FOP Lodge President
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — The Kosciusko County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #149 is looking forward to our annual Christmas with Cops shopping event scheduled to take place on Dec. 21.
This event allows FOP members from all area Police departments to come together with a common goal: To bring holiday cheer to children who, for reasons out of their control, may not have been able to experience Christmas this year. However, if it were not for the generous donors all across our community, this event would not be possible.
Throughout the year, individual and corporate sponsors have donated during various events, such as the successful first annual Glow-N-Dark 5K run which was held in Winona Lake earlier this year. The FOP wants to thank all of our donors for being a part of this special cause.
This year, Lodge #149 will be teaming up with Meijer for Christmas with Cops. Together, we intend to bring a little Christmas Cheer to approximately 80 children, more than any previous year.
This event gives officers the ability to interact in a positive way with our community, and through events like these, the FOP has the opportunity to strengthen our bond with the citizens of this county.
