Joseph C. Ludwick
Joseph C. Ludwick, 76, Nappanee, died at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born March 8, 1939, in Bronson, Mich. to George and Eva (Kupiecki) Ludwick. He married Carol (Watson) Smith March 16, 1975, at the Christ United Methodist Church in Cambridge, Ohio.
Mr. Ludwick was a 1958 graduate of St. Joseph High School in South Bend. Nappanee has been his home since 1975. He had worked for Azaar’s Restaurants in Indiana, Redman Homes in Topeka, Liberty Homes in Leola, PA. and then had worked at Fairmont Homes , first in Cambridge, OH as Sales Manager, then moved to Nappanee and became District Sales Manager of Michigan and Ohio until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of Elkhart Calvary Assembly and was an avid Notre Dame fan.
Mr. Ludwick is survived by his wife: Carol; daughters: Sabrina Ludwick, Mishawaka; Shelley (Stephen) Jordan, Anchorage, Alaska; Amy (Brian) Bystrom, Peru; son: Kevin Smith, Nappanee; grandchildren: Kayla Kemp; Thain and Winter Thomas; Brandon; Brianna; Penny; Grant; and Stella Bystrom; and Kristopher and Baileah Ludwick; great-grandchildren: Kolton and Aiden Ludwick; brothers: Walt (Mary) Ludwick, Kingsley, Mich.; Dan (Pam) Ludwick, Wixon, Mich.; Jay (Gwen) Ludwick, Phoenix, Ariz.; Art (Marge) Ludwick, Sacramento, Calif.; and sister-in-law: Mary Jo Ludwick, South Bend. He was preceded in death by sisters: Michaeleen Ludwick; Barbara Ellis; and brother: Edward Ludwick.
Family and friend may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 7, at the Funeral Home. Rev. Brian Whidden will officiate and burial will be in South Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Elkhart Calvary Assembly.
