Rick Alan Coker
Rick Alan Coker, 33, of Silver Lake, died unexpectedly at his home Friday, Nov. 20, 2015.
He was born July 26, 1982 in Wabash, a son of Larry and Jill (Luckenbill) Coker. His formative years were spent in North Manchester. He completed his schooling at North Manchester High School.
On Sept. 15, 2014, he was united in marriage to Amber Lynn Keel. They had lived in Fort Wayne prior to making their home in Silver Lake.
He had previously been employed by Warsaw Chemical and Kerlin Motors, Silver Lake. A strong family man, he cared for the couple’s children as his wife worked and finished her degree in nursing. To support the family, he was an independent handyman preforming construction and repair jobs.
He enjoyed fishing, vegetable gardening and spending time with his family. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the North American Fishing Club.
He leaves behind his wife: Amber; two children: Taylor and Remington Keel-Coker; his father: Larry Coker, North Manchester; a brother: David (Amy) Luckenbill, Pekin, Ill.; and a sister: Candice Coker, Fort Wayne.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Jill Coker; and a sister: Sunshine Coker.
The funeral service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley with Pastor Roy Blake the officiant. Visitation will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, until the service at the funeral home.
