Donald D. “Buck” Albert
Donald D. “Buck” Albert, 82, Milford, formerly of Elkhart, passed away Friday morning, Nov. 6, 2015, at IU Health Goshen Hospital.
He was born Nov. 19, 1932 in Goshen to Earl and Genevieve (Trainor) Albert. On July 31, 1971 he married Ernestine Howard Fowler in Ringgold, Ga. She died March 11, 2002.
Surviving are two children: Dave (Amy) Fowler and Karla Newcomer, Goshen; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four sisters: Judy (Larry) Miller and Kelly Gay, Goshen, Genevieve (David) Bookman Pensacola, Fla., and Janie (Larry) Neidiffer Columbus, Ohio; three brothers: James (Joan) Albert and Chris (Rita) Albert, Goshen, and Tim Albert, Elkhart; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Dennis Fowler; a daughter, Cheryl Kaye Kidd; a grandson, Chad Newcomer; and a brother, Phillip Albert.
A longtime area resident, Mr. Albert served with the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955. He was well known for his work as a field mason. He was a member of the BAC Union, the American Legion, Eagles and VFW.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A Rosary service will begin at 6 p.m. A funeral mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Goshen. Rev. Father Anthony Steinacker will officiate.
Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.
