Early Morning Accidents Seriously Injures One
MARSHALL COUNTY — A passenger in a minivan was seriously injured and airlifted to Memorial Hospital, South Bend, following an early morning double accident on US 31 and Kenilworth Road in Marshall County. The accident occurred at 1:58 a.m.
Hadassah Schnepp, unknown age or address, was trapped inside the minivan vehicle following a double accident. She suffered serious injuries to her lower extremities. She was airlifted to Memorial Hospital, South Bend by Med-Flight. According to Marshall County Sheriff’s Department the extent of her injures are still unknown.
Police report Daniel R. Greene, 18, Eau Claire, Mich., was northbound on US 31 in the mini van, near the intersection of Kenilworth. It is believed Greene had fallen asleep and rear ended a 2009 Volvo semi-tractor driven by Merab Tsuleiskiri, 57, Skokie, Ill.
After the first collision the Tsuleiskiri vehicle and Greene’s mini van came to rest in the northbound lanes of traffic. Shortly thereafter Greene’s vehicle was struck by a northbound 2016 Mack semi-tractor driven by Jason J. Gingerich, Kokomo.
Greene, Tsuleiskiri and Gingerich were uninjured.
Marshall County Sheriff’s Department Officer Ryan Hollopeter investigated.
