Pierceton Election Running As Expected
PIERCETON — According to officials at the Pierceton community building today, Nov. 3, the general election turnout has been fairly similar to previous years. Around 70 voters had voted by 3:30 p.m., which is about 10 percent of the 682 people registered to vote.
Three precincts are voting in Pierceton today.
According to Patty Donkers, election inspector, voting has been “going as we had expected.” Donkers, along with other officials Betty Rose Stahl, Bob Tenney and Penni Harris, started working last night, and arrived at 5 a.m. this morning to finish up. The first voter arrived around 6:10 a.m.
Aaron Robbins, Matthew Brubaker, incumbent Armando Espinoza and Thomas Barker are running for three town council seats. Neither incumbents Ronald Hall nor Jim Bumbaugh are running for re-election this year. Jerry Kreger is running unopposed for the clerk-treasurer position.
Because this is a town council election, voting is open to residents from within Pierceton’s town limits. There is still time to vote, as polls will remain open until 6 p.m. Voting is being held at the Pierceton community building at 105 W. Walnut St., Pierceton.
