IYI Non-Profit Grant Application Deadline Closing Soon
NORTHEAST INDIANA — There is just one month left for nonprofit organizations in Northeast Indiana to apply for a grant offered by the Indiana Youth Institute that will help them improve their programming to serve more children or families.
The organization and program effectiveness grant will help nonprofits overcome challenges they face in running their agencies. The grant matches consultants with agency staff and board members to develop strategies and implement best practices so the organizations can best deliver services that will positively affect the lives of children.
Grassroots community and faith-based nonprofits organizations located in and serving youth or families from DeKalb, LaGrange, Kosciusko, Steuben, Noble and Whitley counties are eligible. The winning organizations will receive:
- Up to 150 hours of professional consulting from IYI to provide child and youth best practices, program development, board development, staff development, evaluation planning, human resources management policies and sustainability plans to increase the effectiveness of the organization’s programming.
- Registration, hotel and travel expenses for one to attend “Principles and Techniques of Fundraising,” a four-day course taught by The Fund Raising School at Indiana University in Indianapolis in Spring 2016.
- Registration, hotel and travel expenses for two to attend IYI’s 2016 Because Kids Count Conference in Indianapolis on Nov. 28-30, 2016.
- The opportunity, based on successful completion of other activities, to apply for a sub-award of $10,000 to be used only for approved program effectiveness or capacity-building purposes.
IYI will award two grants. Applications must be submitted via e-mail to IYI by Dec. 3. The grants will be awarded in December and any technical assistance received will take place by November 2016.
