Jeff Gordon Surprises Fan With A Special New Car
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Jeff Gordon is making headlines for an incredibly generous gesture toward one of his biggest fans.
A video posted to the NASCAR driver’s Facebook page shows him giving away his personal car to a fan named Loraine. Gordon explains that he met Loraine at the race in Sonoma, Calif., where she told him she had lost her 2003 Jeff Gordon Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS in a fire.
Wednesday morning, Gordon brought Loraine to a car dealership in Charlotte, N.C., and gave her the keys to his personal car — a 2003 Jeff Gordon Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS just like the one she lost, but with only 124 miles on it.
“Pretty awesome day,” Gordon wrote on Facebook. “Thanks to Loraine and everyone who has shown their support over the years for being such amazing fans.”
Gordon, 43, is retiring from NASCAR after the season. The Pittsboro native has raced in stock car’s biggest series since 1992, winning four series championships, three Daytona 500s and five Brickyard 400s at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
