Bids Announced For County Highway Supplies
WARSAW — The Kosciusko County Commissioner’s meeting was held today, Monday, Nov. 2. Scott Tilden, county highway superintendent, was in attendance for the reading of bids for supplies for the 2016 year. The bids were opened and will be looked over for the next two weeks before Tilden makes a recommendation to the council at the Nov. 17 meeting. In addition, the council was shown the Indiana bicentennial flag, and given a date for it to begin flying.
The following bids were opened for county highway supplies for 2016:
- Kline Trucking and Excavating, Warsaw, bid for limestone, prices range from $14 to $17.75 per ton
- Dalton Inc., Warsaw, bid for weed spray, prices range from 90 cents per gallon to $16 per gallon
- Primco Inc., Fort Wayne, bid for a cast and clay package, prices up to $2,106.30
- Speedway Sand and Gravel Inc., Silver Lake, bid for gravel and sand, prices range from $4.60 to $10.45 per ton
- Petroleum Traders Corp., Fort Wayne, bid for different types of fuel, prices range from $1.68 to $2.06 per gallon
- Phend and Brown, Leesburg, bid for bituminous hot mix, prices range from $48 to $61 per ton
- Phend and Brown, Leesburg, bid for plant rental for mixing, price is $24 per ton

Treasurer Sue Ann Mitchell presented the 2016 bicentennial flag and said that it would be flown Dec. 12.
County Attorney Chad Miner brought forth an amendment to the Capital Improvement Plan, which was approved by the commissioners.
Ron Robinson brought forth the Kosciusko Economic Development Corporation agreement for 2016, which was approved by the commissioners.
