Linda Rae Johnston
Linda Rae Johnston, 65, Claypool, died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at her home.
She was born Dec. 3, 1949, in Warsaw, to Donavon and Gertrude (Robinson) Johnston, and was a lifetime Claypool resident. She was a proud member of the Cardinal Bell Ringers; they performed in different places; but the highlight of her life was getting to perform with them in Washington D.C. She loved animals of all kinds but especially her dogs Buddy and Sadie; enjoyed going to the Elkhart County Fair to watch the harness races. She loved Elvis Presley and enjoyed listening to country music.
She is survived by her sister: Judy (Don) Prater, Claypool; half-sister: Beverly (Robert) Chaney, Md.; two nieces: Pam (Doug) Crace, Warsaw; Tammy (Carl) Kendrick, Claypool; one nephew: Kelly (Jennifer) Prater, Claypool; 11 great-nieces and nephews; and 12 great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by he father: Donavon Johnston, on Feb. 1, 1989; and her mother: Gertrude Johnston, on Jan. 6, 2000.
Visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, before the 1 p.m. funeral at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Rev. Dean Ealey of Early Apostolic Bible Training and Pastor Bob Brown of God’s Highway to Heaven will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Memorials may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses. Titus Funeral Home is caring for the family.
