Glam Celebrates One Year With Fashion And Fond Memories
WARSAW — Buffalo Street in downtown Warsaw closed today, not only to celebrate the fashions of Glam, a local women’s clothing store which recently celebrated its one year anniversary, but to honor the lives of two men deeply loved and missed by the store’s owner, Michelle LeDrew.
Guests clad in cocktail attire filled the street, enjoying cocktails supplied by Oak & Alley, Latte Lounge chai tea and coffee and h’ordeuvres supplied by One Ten. Tables were set up for mingling and a tent with a pink runway provided seating for a fashion show. The event featured models of all ages and body types — all of which were either Glam’s own employees or clients — showcasing Glam’s 2015 fall and holiday collection.
As the store celebrated its first year in business, LeDrew also took time to honor her father and brother, Charlie and Scott Smith, who recently perished in a plane crash on the way to a Notre Dame game. Two seats were kept open in honor of the gentleman, with a single, white rose placed on each seat. In addition, models wore “Smith Strong” jewelry during the store’s fashion showcase.
Following the conclusion of the runway show, a letter, penned by LeDrew, was read to the audience in memory of her father and brother — both of which LeDrew noted were huge supporters of her business.
Numerous vendors were invited to participate in the event including Expressions Salon and Day Spa, which provided trendy, high-fashion hair and makeup looks for the runway show and Melissa Jordan Photography.
Each sale made helped a local cause. Ten percent of each sale will be donated to Hello Gorgeous!, a local charity providing red-carpet experiences for women battling cancer.
