Rhiannon Giddens Playing Fours Winds New Buffalo

NEW BUFFALO, Mich. — The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians’ Four Winds Casinos are pleased to announce that roots band, Birds of Chicago, will be the opening act for the upcoming concert by Rhiannon Giddens at Four Winds New Buffalo’s Silver Creek Event Center at 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6. Tickets for the concert can be purchased through Ticketmaster and start at $20 plus applicable fees.
Rhiannon Giddens is best known as the powerhouse lead singer of the Carolina Chocolate Drops and is quickly staking out her territory as a solo artist. In February 2015, she released her solo debut album “Tomorrow Is My Turn,” from Nonesuch Records. The album was produced by T Bone Burnett and features songs such as “Waterboy,” “Don’t Let It Trouble Your Mind” and “She’s Got You.” The album incorporates gospel, jazz, blues and country, plus a hint of proto-rock and roll. Birds of Chicago has been called “This year’s biggest roots surprise” by the Los Angeles Times. The band is a collective built around husband and wife duo JT Nero and Allison Russell.
