Woman Fails To Serve Sentence, New Charge Filed
WARSAW — Amanda D. Waggoner, 25, 503 Prairie Drive, Bayview Estates, Syracuse, was booked in the county jail Monday, Oct. 19, after she failed to show up at the jail to serve a 180-day sentence in July.
Waggoner has been charged with failure to return to lawful detention, a level 6 felony.
The county prosecutor’s office filed an affidavit of probable cause in Kosciusko Superior Court 1 on July 16.
According to the document, on May 28, 2014, charges of perjury, a class D felony and conversion, a class A misdemeanor were filed against Waggoner in Kosciusko County Superior Court II. She pleaded guilty to the conversion charge on Dec. 1, 2014, and was sentenced to 365 days on probation.
On March 5 a probation violation complaint was filed. She was found guilty of that charge on June 17 and sentenced to serve 180 days in the county jail. She was ordered to report to the county jail at 3 p.m. June 24, to serve her sentence. However, on June 24, the court modified her report date to 3 p.m. July 1. She failed to report to the jail as ordered by the judge.
She is being held on $5,000 surety and $250 cash bond.
