Paul D. Popenfoose, 87, of Leesburg passed away at 3:10 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015 at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw.

On Feb. 19, 1928 he was born in Oswego to Dallys and Gladys (Dausman) Popenfoose. He was united in marriage in Warsaw July 25, 1981 to Clara (Carroll) Popenfoose who survives.

A graduate of North Webster High School, he worked at Dalton Foundries 37 years retiring in 1993.

He survived by his wife: Clara; his daughters: Paula Edwards, Leesburg, Christine (Doug) Shenefield, Leesburg, Julie Shaw, Leesburg; sons: Kenneth (Ann) Popenfoose, Warsaw, Melvin (Dixie) Shaw, Warsaw, David (Eva) Shaw, Melbourne, Fla., his brothers: Gary (Barbara) Popenfoose, Leesburg, Samuel (Ann) Popenfoose of Warsaw and sister: Linda Taylor, Warsaw, 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Dallys and Gladys, a sister: Juanita, sons: Lenny, Larry and Michael, son-in-law Robert, brother-in-law Ron and grandson James.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Warsaw on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Maureen Mauzy officiating, burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
