Milford Police officers responded to the Stop-and-Go convenient store, located at 309 W. Catherine St., Milford, on Sunday, Oct. 11, at approximatly 12:30 p.m. in regards to suspicious person. Officers arrived and were directed to an individual located near the gas pumps of the convenience store.
Officers approached the male subject, later identified as Kailer V. Slusser, 18, Goshen, and observed him quickly shoving items into a bag in an erratic matter. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Slusser was in possession of methamphetamine, along with marijuana. As Slusser was being taken into custody, a handgun was located on him that was found to have been reportedly stolen from South Bend. Officers subsequently also located other items associated with selling and distribution of drugs inside his vehicle.
Slusser was arrested and preliminarily charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, carrying a firearm without a permit/license, and theft of a firearm/gun. He is currently being held on a $25,500 bond at the Kosciusko County Jail.
The Milford Police Department was assisted in investigation by officers from the South Bend Police Department, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s and Prosecutor’s Office, Kosciusko County Drug Task Force, and agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
