Goshen Mascot Revote To Take Place This Week
GOSHEN — After a name had to be removed from the list, Goshen students will once again vote today for a new mascot.
The steering committee chose to remove Red Devils from the list, deeming it potentially offensive.
Earlier this year, the school board voted to retire the Goshen Redskins mascot effective Jan. 1, 2016.
It was a decision that stirred up controversy as devoted Redskins fans cried out in favor of keeping the Native American moniker and imagery.
High school students vote Monday and middle school students later this week.
Here is a list of the semi finalists:
Bulldogs
Cardinals
Crimson Storm
Dragons
Firebirds
Gladiators
Greyhounds
Griffins
Grizzlies
Pride
Raptors
Redhawks
Spartans
Wolfpack
