Coworkers Say Powerball Winner Clocked Out After Finding Out She Won
THREE RIVERS, Mich. — We’re getting a better idea of who the winner of a $310 million Powerball jackpot is.
According to WDIV-TV, coworkers say the longtime manufacturing plant employee was working the overnight shift at Aquatic in Three Rivers when she realized she won.
“I see everyone crowding around her, and I went up to ask what happened, told us that she won. She clocked out and left,” one coworker said.
“I believe she kind of lost control of that point with crying and shaking until she was able to drive home,” said another coworker.
Coworkers say the woman plans to use the money to continue renovations on her house for her aging mother to come live with her.
The winning ticket was sold at the Shell gas station on West Michigan Avenue in Three Rivers. The store manager says the winner is a regular customer.
The winner will have the option to receive the money over time, or in one lump sum which would amount to about $197 million after taxes. They have not yet come forward and been identified.
